Sandra Mbuvi, former Nairobi governor’s daughter, has been nominated for the 2021 Scream African Women Awards as a brand influencer of the year.
An elated Sonko took to social media to congratulate and drum support for his daughter through an Instagram post seen by trendstv.co.ke
“Dear Sandra Mbuvi, your hard work finally paid off. I feel so proud of you my daughter, congratulations on your nominations as brand influencer of the year, your achievements and creativity have done all this. May you bag this. Voting is ongoing via the link in my bio nawaomba watu wangu muvote for her.” Mike Sonko wrote.
In the same category as Sandra Mbuvi are; Zari Hassan (Uganda), Fayvanny (Tanzania), Uriel Oputa (Nigeria), Mercy Eke (Nigeria) Nengi Hampson (Nigeria) and Scarlet Duchess (Nigeria).
In a different category in the same awards is the musician of the year category. Another Kenyan, Tanasha Donna, has been nominated in this category in the second edition of the Scream African Women Awards.
The ‘Gere’ hitmaker will battle it out with Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, and Terms. In this category also are; Kamo Mphela (SA), Lady Du (SA), Makhadzi (SA), Gyakie (Ghana) and Teni (Nigeria).
This second edition of Scream African Awards will be held in November and the organizing board has announced that this year’s edition will focus on creating awareness and combating gender violence in the society
