On Friday of 12th November 2021, Raila Odinga took his Azimio la Umoja to Kamba land. Speaking in Wote, Makueni county Raila said that he would fight corruption in Kenya because he knows the loopholes. Raila said, “I know where there are loopholes. I have been Prime Minister of Kenya and I will seal all of them.”
Raila further showed his concern on youth who occupy the largest population in Kenya. He said youth should be empowered instead of being alone. Raila said, “If you don’t empower them they become drunkards, drug addicts and criminals. They basically become a drug on society, but if they are properly empowered, given proper educated and skills they become a source for wealth creation in our nation, a great resource for our country.”
He said that youths should be empowered with money. He said, “Kenyans don’t want cooked fish, they want to know how to fish so that they can walk with pride as a proud people.”
Raila still said he will honour his promise of 6000 per month to the poor families. He said, “When I say that they say its small talk. It is a promise and where there is a will there is a way.”
Raila was in company of ukambani governors among them Charity Ngiru of Kitui, Alfred Mutua of Machakos and Kivuna kibwana of makueni. Other leaders present included the Nakuru county governor, Lee Kinyajui, Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, MPs Junet Mohamed of Suna East, Maina Kamande who is a nominated MP, and Raphael Wanjala of Budalangi.
The royal media boss SK Macharia also attended the occasion.
Not forgetting that Azimio la Umoja was launched in Nakuru county on17th August 2021. This occasion happens in absence of WIPER leader kalonzo musyoka despite the fact that Raila said they may work together.
