Mutua Says That He Will Still Vie For President Of Kenya

Machakos governor makes it clear that he will still vie for presidential seat in 2022. Mutua was speaking during Day Break in citizen TV. This comes few days after attending azimio la umoja campaigns in Makueni and also in Coast. He added that he still have a dream to run the country.

He said, “Just because you support somebody’s position does not mean you are relinquishing your desires. I am not relinquishing my dream to take over the running of this country.”

Mutua further showed his hope that odinga will support him in 2022 presidential bid. He said, “We have worked together and you will see more coalitions coming together and people joining hand. When push comes to shove I hope Raila Odinga will support me.”

Mutua said that he is delighted by consequences of handshake that has brought unity in Kenya across all tribes. He said, “I have seen what President Uhuru Kenyatta, through the handshake, is doing with Raila Odinga with Azimio La Umoja, uniting people regardless of tribe and gender. I went to that function to support Azimio La Umoja.”

Mutua also added that for one to succeed he must join coalition because it is hard to succeed on your own. He said, “The way this country works is that you cannot run for president by yourself, you have to be in a coalition of the willing…”
