More Than Five Million Kenyans Vaccinated Against Covid-19

Ministry of health has said that 5.75 million Kenyans have been vaccinated against covid-19 as on 10th November 2021. The minister said that 1.93 million Kenyans have been fully vaccinated while 3.83 million Kenyans have only received the first dose. The minister said, “The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose was at 47.1 per cent.”

The minister further broke down the percentage of those vaccinated in counties as follows:
⦁ Nairobi-20.7%
⦁ Nyeri-18.1%
⦁ Kiambu-11.4%
⦁ Taita Taveta-9.6%
⦁ Nyandarua-9.6%
⦁ Uasin Gichu-9.2%
⦁ Kisumu-8.3%
⦁ Kirinyaga-8.2%
⦁ Mombasa-8.1%

In the counties such as wajir, Mandera and Marsabit are least vaccinated with less than two percent population being vaccinated.

On Wednesday of 10th November 2021, Kenya received 765,600 doses of AstraZeneca from the Covax facility. These bring the total number of vaccine to almost 10 million doses.

On 10th November 2021, Kenya registered 178 new cases bringing the positivity rate to 2.5%. These brings the total caseload to 254, 057.

The country registered no death with 31 recoveries. The total caseload of recoveries now stand at 247,849.
