A 14-year-old pupil at Kamor Primary School in Mandera county has succumbed to burn injuries. The pupil was set ablaze yesterday in their house by his brothers.
This was after he was named as a witness in a phone theft case involving one of his brothers. In a report yesterday, the DCI said that the boy was lured into the house where he was set ablaze.
“The class seven pupil at Kamor primary school was lured into their house by his mischievous brothers Ibrahim Ahmed and Yusuf Ahmed, before being rolled up in a mattress doused in petrol and set on fire.
After setting him ablaze, the two brothers went into hiding, leaving their little brother for dead.” The statement reads.
The boy was however rescued by police officers and was rushed to Mandera county referral hospital where he succumbed this morning.
The DCI has reported the demise in a tweet seen by trendstv.co.ke
“Remember the sad case we reported yesterday about a 14-year-old boy who was doused in petrol and set ablaze by his elder brothers? The boy has since succumbed to the burn injuries early today morning while undergoing treatment at Mandera County Teaching and Referral Hospital.” The tweet reads.
Detectives have since yesterday launched a manhunt for the two brothers who by the time of publishing this article had not been arrested.
