Man Digs a Grave, Sets house on fire and Commits Suicide

A was seen in Kirinyaga, after a 48 years old man has left the residents of Rwathia village in Gichungu in shock. 

Joel Mutheka dug his own grave and later set his own house on fire and stood by it to guard with a sharp panga preventing anyone from putting out the fire. 

“Hatujui ni nini, hakusema kama kuna kitu imemkasirisha ama ako na shida yeyote “(We don’t know what’s his problems, he haven’t told us anything and if something is boring him)

” aliniambia anataka kujinyonga na wakati nilijaribu kumsaidia ananikimbisha na panga”(He told me he wants to commit suicide, any whenever I wanted to assist him, he run me away  with a panga)Say his brother  Murimi. 

According to witnesses, after the house was burnt down completely,  the deceased went missing, only to be found some hours later his body hanging from a mango tree on his neighbours’ farm.

Gichungu sub-county police commander Anthony Mbogo confirmed the incident and the police have launched the investigation.
