Kiambu Police Arrest Members Of Dreaded KK Brothers, Recover Four Guns

Police in Ruiru and Juja Sub-Counties in Kiambu County have arrested five suspects said to be part of a dreaded criminal gang that has been terrorizing residents.

The gang, also known as KK brothers, is reported to have been operating at Mung’etho, Juja farm, Mastore, Ruiru town, Ngoingwa and Mwea areas leaving residents in fear.

According to Kiambu County police commander Muchangi Kioi, detectives who have been tailing the gang recovered firearms including two AK 47 rifles and two pistols from the gang.

“This gang of young men often wear fake police uniforms, masquerading as officers in order to harass and rob residents,” noted Kioi.

Also in the custody of police are mobile phones and a wide range of crude weapons the gang allegedly used to break into electronic shops and homes.

Kioi revealed that some three other members of the gang were arrested in West Pokot while transporting the stolen property.

The three who are yet to be transferred back to Kiambu to be processed for prosecution, were found with 30 cooking gas cylinders, nine laptops, nine television sets and six hoofers.

Addressing journalists at Ruiru police station, Kioi said that police are pursuing other suspects.
