Six family members have died in a grisly road accident in Loitktok on Wednesday night. It is reported that the accident occurred near the Kwa Maji Area within Loitoktok town.
Witness accounts state that the driver of the vehicle – Mitsubishi lancer veered off the road and hit a sewage hole beside the road. Geoffrey Musyoki, the driver, was in the company of five others when the accident occurred.
“At around 7.30 pm, the vehicle hit a sewage manhole beside the road. The impact made the vehicle overturn and roll severally, fatally injuring the driver and two other passengers.” Witnesses said.
A mum and her two daughters were taken to Loitoktok sub-county hospital for treatment but succumbed to injuries upon arrival.
The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Loitioktok sub-county hospital mortuary.
The extremely damaged motor vehicle was towed to Loitoktok police station.
Police have urged motorists to be careful while on the roads and drive at moderate speeds to avert such incidences.
