Fred Gumo’s Sister-in-law abducted, family says

The family of former Westland’s member of parliament Fred Gumo have said that their kin together with her driver were abducted by unknown gunmen on the night of Thursday, October 28.

The family has reached the police to aid in the search of the two who have since gone missing.

Reports indicate that the two were ambushed outside the former MPs house as they waited for the gate to be opened.

“They were waiting for the gate to be opened when they were attacked. They were forcefully bundled into another vehicle at gunpoint.” Police report states.

The victim’s car was left by the roadside. The police cordoned off the area and alerted detectives from the crime scene department.

Forensic analysis from the DCI last traced the phone signal to Muthaiga.

“We were able to trace Gumo’s sister-in-law‘s phone location at Muthaiga. That was the last clue the detectives had and are following the lead.” Police said.

Detectives also dusted the vehicle for fingerprints.

Cases of abduction are on the rise in recent days. In a separate, Mwenda Mbijiwe, an analyst has been missing for months now without a trace since his disappearance on June 12.

In another case, Joseph Otieno, a general Service officer went missing on July 11, 2021. A vehicle he was travelling in was later found abandoned in Mwiki.
