Five guards at Komothai Girls secondary school have been arrested. This follows reports that the girl’s school was allegedly involved in the murder of a student from Gathiruini high school.

The 17-year-old student was accused of leading a group of other male students into the institution on October 21, before he was attacked.

After the attack, the boy was taken to Kigumo level IV hospital in an unconscious state before he succumbed to injuries while under treatment.

The guards were arrested after students recorded statements with detectives and will be presented in court on Tuesday, October 26.

On a fateful day, the boys had tiptoed under the cover of darkness into phoebe’s house for an unknown mission before they were spotted by some girls who raised alarm according to a report by the DCI.

Detectives are on a manhunt for the boys who sneaked together with the victim before leaving him behind.

In a statement, DCI boss George Kinoti stated that detectives recovered planks of wood suspected to be assault weapons used in the victim

Gathiruini high school was closed indefinitely after the incident for fear of revenge attack on the girl’s school.

The police have warned members of the public against taking the law into their own hands following several cases of lynching in recent days.
