Jamaican singer, Etana-born Shauna McKenzie, is in Kenya to promote his new album dubbed Pamoja.
She landed in the country on Wednesday ahead of her concert at the waterfront, Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi.
The concert, Pamoja Festival, will aim at promoting her new album that features three Kenyan artists.
Etana has been a local favorite since 2012 and since then has had a number of successful shows. This is due to her strong fan base in Kenya.
The show is sponsored by The Kulture alongside Vybez Radio and Boomplay music. Going down on Saturday, the show will be her first since the onset of the covid 19 pandemic.
She will be performing alongside local artists; Naiboi, Wyre, DJ Kang Kang, Graviti band, Vj Chacha, Dj Moh, Kris Darling, and DJ Double Trouble among others.
In an Instagram post, The Kulture hyped the show welcoming her to the country.
“Nairobi you’re not ready. Come rain or shine, nobody can stop reggae. We are absolutely excited to have her in Kenya for the Pamoja Fest on October 30, 2021, at Ngong Racecourse!” Read the post.
The album features Kenyan artists, Naiboi, Wyre, and Michael Bundi. Other African artists featured in the album include Nandy from Tanzania, Stonebwoy from Ghana, and Gambia’s Wezi.
Jamaican Dancehall king Vybz Kartel and Yahsha are also top artist collaborations in the album.
Also, in the album is Etana’s cover Version of Fadhili Williams’s song ‘Malaika’. Pamoja Album has been Nominated for the 64th Grammy awards for Best Reggae album.
