Noodin Haji, the Director of Public Prosecutions, has received the International Commission of Jurists’ (ICJ) Jurist Of The Year (JOY) Award for this year.
The event took place on Friday, December 10th, 2021, as has been customary in previous years. It is traditionally held on the 10th of December every year.
During the world commemoration of International Human Rights Day in Kenya, the European Union Ambassador to Kenya, Henriette Geiger, bestowed the prestigious award.
Since its inception in 1993, the award has sought to honor those who have consistently advocated for human rights, the rule of law, and democracy.
Haji was praised for his unwavering commitment to ensuring the country’s democracy, as well as his commitment to the Criminal Justice Sector.
