Covid-19: Kenya Records 64 New Cases And 47 Recoveries

Cabinet secretary of health Mutahi Kagwe has announced that the country has recorded 64 new cases from 4790 samples in the past 24 hours. The total caseload of positive cases now stands at 254,215. These brings the positivity rate to 1.3 per cent. In the 64 new cases, the youngest to be infected is five years old while the oldest is 94 yrs. The new cases were distributed as follows:

⦁ Turkana-5
⦁ Nakuru-4
⦁ Nandi-4
⦁ Kakamega-3
⦁ Kericho-3
⦁ Kisumu-2
⦁ Lamu-2
⦁ Mandera-2
⦁ Migori-2
⦁ Mombasa-2
⦁ Uasin Gichu-1
⦁ Laikipia-1
⦁ Vihiga-1
⦁ Garissa-1
⦁ Narok-1
⦁ Nyeri-1
⦁ Kajiado-1

Mutahi further recorded 47 recoveries of whom 30 patients were from home based care and the rest 17 were from various hospitals. These brings total recoveries to 247,574.

The country has also lost one person bring the cumulative number to 5,316.

The minister further stated that there are 396 patients in various health facilities and also 1,044 patients in home-based care.
