Agnes Tirop husband to be taken for mental check-up

Agnes was found dead on 13th October 2021 in her home in Rift Valley town of Iten. The incident show the violent act against women. It was later discovered that she was killed by her husband.

Her husband, Ibrahim Rotich, was later arrested in Mombasa as he tried to flee from the country. He was arrested by police officers. According to a report by directorate of criminal investigation, Rotich had rammed his gateway vehicle into a lorry while in Mlolongo, Mombasa road. This was interpreted as an escape method.

On Tuesday of 9th November 2021, Rotich appeared before the Eldoret court in handcuffs with a hat and a mask covering most parts of his face.

The court ordered that Rotich must undertake a mental health test before being brought to court on 16th November 2021. Rotich will undertake the mental test from Moi referral hospital in Eldoret.
